Bellbrook has shaken things up at the state wrestling tournament because three of our athletes placed this year. Tyler Geloneck, who is only a sophomore, placed sixth, junior Ben Schram placed third, and junior Cameron Kelly came in second place at his third state tournament appearance. It was no secret that Bellbrook’s wrestling team was powerful, but the odds of three members placing are rare.
The team had a very successful season that Kelly claimed had to do with the fact that he, Schram and Geloneck have all wrestled together since they were five years old and wrestling is in their blood. Since none of these finalists are graduating this year, Kelly talked about his expectations for next season, “Hopefully we do better. I mean, I think Ben and I can make it to the finals and win, and Tyler can place high again.”
