With the fall season coming up, that means there will be different events within the Bellbrook school community. Most of these events listed are at the high school, but there is one event at Bell Creek Intermediate, the annual pumpkin auction.
BCI Pumpkin Auction
This year marks the 6th annual pumpkin auction at Bell Creek Intermediate on October 18. The pumpkins used in the auction are either carved or painted by the families in the district of Bellbrook. In addition to the auction, there are food trucks, face painting, popcorn, and more, all available to keep the younger audience entertained. Last year, almost $13,000 was raised for the charity A Special Wish in Dayton. The charity fulfills wishes for children diagnosed with life threatening disorders.
Homecoming Week
Homecoming Week will be from October 2-7 and ends with the dance Saturday, October 7, from 8p-11p in the Bellbrook High School auxiliary gym. This year’s theme is A Tangled Homecoming. Tickets are $15 each and students are permitted to bring a guest. Guest forms must be submitted by the Thursday before the dance. Spirit days include PJ Day, Dress like a Boss Day, Safari Day, Disney Day, and Gold Rush Day.
Homecoming Football Game
The homecoming game will be versus Monroe. Tickets are available now, and you can purchase them for $8. At halftime, the court nominated by the student body will be introduced and the Golden Royals will be crowned.
Powder Puff Game and Bonfire
When there’s homecoming week, there’s the Powder Puff game! Senior girls form flag football teams and play each other, and senior boys are the ones cheering the players on in the stadium on Wednesday, October 4. Of course, after the game, there will be a bonfire! It is held after the game finishes on the field by the stadium.
