Third-person shooter Fortnite turns back the clock in the new season of the game and hits the jackpot with more than six million concurrent players recently.
Fortnite is a 100-player free-to-play battle royale game that was first released in July 2017. The game has had a lengthy history of updates that have completely changed the way it is played, but the producers have decided to go back to basics with an update that reverted to the map of the very first few seasons.

The new update released to wide success among longtime fans, people who previously dropped the game, and new players alike. The number of concurrent players skyrocketed and broke records for the game with six million concurrent players and 44.7 million total users playing in one day.
Some people have noticed that this highly successful update has come directly after the company that owns Fortnite, Epic Games, fired around 830 people, 16% of its employees.
While people are enjoying the game, many of the staff who originally created the game that they are revisiting are now seeking new jobs elsewhere while the company they worked for reaps the rewards for their hard work.
