On December 7, the Bellbrook Women’s basketball team traveled to Monroe for an away game. This game turned out to be senior Alayna Meyer’s recording-breaking achievement. Meyer surpassed the previous three point record holder Bailey Zerby, who Meyer got the chance to play with her freshman season. Zerby had 145 career three pointers, and Meyer had 147 after the Monroe game.
“It felt rewarding and special to break the three point record,” Meyer said. “I felt all my extra shooting and consistent hard work was displayed.”

That wasn’t the only recording-breaking night this season. A week later, the Eagles played at home against the Ross Rams. During the first quarter, Taylor Scohy hit the milestone of a lifetime, becoming one of Bellbrook High School’s 1000 point players.
“It felt like a surreal moment because it’s a goal that I have wanted to achieve since I was little,” Scohy said. “I felt so supported in that moment and was so excited.”

Meyer’s senior basketball season isn’t her only season that has been a success. Meyer showed great skill on the golf course this fall. She was awarded Player of the Year in the SWBL, and was also on the All League First Team. Meyer plans to continue her golf career at Otterbein University.
“I loved the golf coach and the team when I met them, and I loved the campus,” Meyer said. “How pretty it was, how it’s small but has so much around it to entertain. I also loved the people and the culture when I went on my visit.”
Scohy’s high school basketball career has been one for the books. Scohy is a four-year starter, as well as a two-year captain. She is also a two-time Player of the Year, receiving this award for her sophomore and junior year.
Scohy plans to attend The University of UT Martin. “It felt like the best decision and I felt so comfortable with this school, the campus, the players on the team, and the coaches,” Scohy said. “I felt a little bit of relief because the recruiting process is so hard and stressful, so I was so happy to finally make a decision.”
Meyer and Scohy both set records at Bellbrook High School and both have high hopes for their futures.
“I look forward to playing with and against some really good players and just so many more experiences and opportunities I will get throughout college,” Scohy said.
“I look forward to meeting new people and new friends, improving in my golf career, and pursuing my Economics degree that will hopefully help me in getting my future job,” Meyer said.
