Bellbrook Homecoming will be A Night In Paradise

Earlier this week the BHS Student Government released the theme for the upcoming Homecoming dance taking place on Saturday, October 5, and the themes for spirit days starting September 30.

“We discussed a lot of great options. Fire and Ice, Under the Sea, A Night in New York City, Rodeo, and Galaxy were a few contenders,” senior class Senator Jordan Frantz said.

“A lot of the students really wanted a Love Island theme,” Frantz said. “To make it more appropriate, we thought that A Night In Paradise was perfect. It is the same theme, just more school-friendly.”

Love Island is a reality TV show that gained a lot of attention in the weeks leading up to school starting.

“We liked the idea but felt the rebrand was necessary due to the show being a little ‘raunchy,'” junior class Senator Alexi Knight said.

“Getting ready for the dance can be stressful. Lucky for us, we have Ms. Bills who orders and pretty much organizes it all. We will plan the decorations, order them, and help set up,” Frantz said. “The students should expect to see a ton of beachy colors, flowers, palm trees, seashells, starfish, star projections, torches, and love signs.”

During the week leading up to the dance, student gov has set up spirit days for students to dress up and have fun.

The spirit days for HOCO week 2024 are:

Monday – Country vs. Country Club

Tuesday – Generation Day

Wednesday – Purple and Gold

Thursday – Minions / Despicable ME

Friday – Toga/Greek

On Generations Day, each grade has been assigned how to dress. On this day, the teachers have been asked to dress like high school students. Seniors are senior citizens. Juniors are middle-aged adults. Sophomores are college students. Freshmen are kids/babies.

Wednesday night, students are invited to come and watch the PowderPuff game at the stadium. The White and Purple senior teams will put on a game of flag football while other seniors cheer them on from the sideline.

The Homecoming game is home on Friday, October 4 against Franklin and the theme for the student section is Toga.

“Tickets for the dance will go on sale September 30 and can be bought in the Athletic Office or online. With the dance being October 5, we like to give the students around a week or a little more to purchase the tickets,” Frantz said since no tickets are sold at the door.
