Four easy breakfasts for students on the go

As the school year kicks back up, many students find themselves skipping breakfast before school. When asked why, they all had a similar answer: “I don’t have time.”

Although breakfast can sometimes be a hassle, it’s still important to get the nutrients you need so you can perform to your full potential at school. Whether you’re all about protein or on a strict vegan diet, there are several great breakfast options.

Overnight oats is a simple and customizable breakfast that will save you lots of time in the morning. To make these tasty oats, you need 1⁄2 cup rolled oats, 1⁄2 cup milk of choice, 1⁄4 cup greek yogurt, 1 tablespoon of chia seeds, 1 tablespoon of honey or syrup. You can add things like fruit, cinnamon, chocolate chips, and peanut butter. Place all ingredients into a mason jar and mix until combined. Put the lid on and leave in the fridge overnight. In the morning, add milk to thin if they’re too thick and enjoy!

You can never go wrong with a simple yogurt parfait. You’re going to need 3 cups of vanilla yogurt, 1 cup fruit of your choice, 1 cup granola, and honey for drizzle. Place your yogurt in a cup or bowl, and begin by mixing in the fruit and layering on the granola. Drizzle with honey and you’re all done!

Breakfast smoothies are a delicious and fast way to enjoy breakfast on the go. They’re very customizable, and you can make almost any combination of your choice. You’re going to start off with any fruit. The most popular in smoothies is strawberries, bananas, blueberries, and pineapple, but you can also add kale for a green smoothie. Add a superfood, including protein powder, almond butter, or peanut butter. Pour in 1⁄2-3⁄4 cup of almond milk, blend, and enjoy!

Vegan avocado toast is a healthy and simple choice. You’ll need any bread of your liking, 1 avocado, crushed red pepper flakes, salt and pepper, and toppings of your choice, including lime juice, seasoning, vegan parmesan cheese, or tomato slices.To start, toast your bread. Cut your avocado and scoop as much as you want onto the bread. Spread the avocado on the bread, add your toppings, and enjoy!
