Back again for the 58th year in a row, the Country Music Association Awards are right around the corner. With this awards show being a tradition for almost six decades, country music fans all over the world can’t wait to see what’s in store for this year.
The CMA’s are packed with famous hosts, performances from well known and upcoming artists, and several categories with countless chances to win awards. This year, the awards will be hosted by Lainey Wilson, Peyton Manning, and Luke Bryan. You can expect several impressive performances from duos such as Post Malone and Chris Stapleton, Kelsea Ballerini and Noah Kahan, Brooks & Dunn and Jelly Roll, and Thomas Rhett and Teddy Swims. There is also a lineup of single performers, including Luke Bryan, Lainey Wilson, Luke Combs, Kacey Musgraves, and Eric Church.
Nods is a big term when it comes to awards shows, meaning how many nominations a nominee has. Morgan Wallen is in the lead with seven nods, followed by Cody Johnson and Chris Stapleton with five each. These nominees are followed by Post Malone and Lainey Wilson with four nods. Lastly, Megan Moroney, Luke Combs, Jelly Roll, and Kacey Musgraves are all tied with three nods.
When it comes to the number of categories for awards, the CMAs don’t fall short. The complete list of categories for this year includes: Entertainer of the Year, Single of the Year, Album of the Year, Song of the Year, Female Vocalist of the Year, Male Vocalist of the Year, Vocal Group of the Year, Vocal Duo of the Year, Musical Event of the Year, Musician of the Year, Music Video of the Year, and New Artist of the Year.
The Country Music Association Awards were held at the Bridgestone Arena in Nashville Tennessee on Wednesday, November 20.
