Mia Nazarenus is a senior on the dive team at Bellbrook high school. She has been on the dive team all four years but has been diving for a total of 10 years.
“My past seasons with the team have gone really well,” Nazarenus said. “I have shown improvement each year. My expectation going into this season is to make it to state.”
The first meet was held November 30 at the DRAC in Beavercreek. “My season has just started and it has been going pretty well,” Nazarenus said. “I won the first meet of the season.”
Nazarenus has been successful in her years diving at BHS. “I have won MVP the past three years, I have been the SWBL Champion the past three years, and I have placed at districts the past two years and I placed at state last year,” Nazarenus said.
“My biggest accomplishment has been placing at state last year,” Nazarenus said. “I worked really hard last season and it paid off. I also ended up getting a personal record in that same meet.”
Nazarenus has been facing some challenges this year though. “I am battling a little bit of an injury,” Nazarenus said, “I am currently dealing with a knee injury. We don’t know exactly what’s wrong but I’m starting physical therapy soon.”
