Valentine’s Day is the perfect way to show either your partner or your loved ones how much they mean to you. If you’re looking for V-Day inspiration, here are five good gift ideas to celebrate the holiday:

1: Flowers

Although it is one of the most basic gifts for your loved one, it’s still a classic that anyone would be happy receiving. Flowers are a lovely way to express feelings, whether it’s a traditional bouquet of red roses or a mixed arrangement of seasonal flowers for a special touch.

When flowers are paired with a letter or note to the receiver, it makes them more meaningful. One of the most liked methods to make someone’s Valentine’s Day extra special is still with flowers.

Senior Rachel Fahrenholz states that the most memorable gift she got for Valentine’s day was a welded rose among other assortments of flowers. “The fact that he went above and beyond to hand make a gift I would’ve never even thought of meant a lot to me,” Fahrenholz said.

2: Jewelry

Jewelry is a classic present that becomes much more meaningful when it is personalized. Think about getting a ring, bracelet, or necklace engraved with your initials, a special occasion, or a brief message.

A nice touch can be added by personalized items like birthstone jewelry or lockets with a picture inside. By doing this, your partner will have a portable memory they can wear at all times.

Senior Molly Laughlin has been with her significant other since 8th grade. “A locket with a picture of us inside of it was my favorite gift,” Laughlin said. “It reminds me of a romantic movie item and it’s something I’ll have when I’m older.”

3: Photo Booklet

Making a cute photo booklet of good memories is a great gift to give from both ends of the relationship. If you’re looking to throw together some pictures to remind your partner of why you are with them, a photo booklet is a great way to do so.

You also can personalize a photo booklet as much as you want. By using different colors, cutting out shapes, and using Polaroid camera prints, you have the opportunity to spruce up the booklet to make it more touching to your significant other.

Senior Jordan Franz said that a photo book was the most memorable because it collected her memories with her boyfriend over the last few years. “I still look through the booklet all the time,” Franz said.

4: Clothing

Matching clothes are a fun Valentine’s Day gift because they symbolize togetherness. Whether it’s matching hoodies, t-shirts with cute slogans, or coordinated outfits, this gift allows couples to showcase their connection in a stylish and lighthearted way.

These kinds of outfits are perfect for photos, date outings, or even cozy nights in, matching clothes are a sweet way to celebrate your bond while creating lasting memories.

Senior Zac Hansen had been trying to come up with an idea for Valentines Day when he had the idea of getting his significant other matching hoodies. “I know that she will wear it and it doubles as a good gift for the holiday,” Hansen said.

Zac Hansen also matched his Halloween costume with his partner, senior Evi Fromm.

5: Handmade Letter and Sweets

Handmade letters and candy can make a thoughtful and heartfelt Valentine’s Day gift. A handwritten letter allows you to express genuine emotions, share cherished memories, and show your love in a personal way.

Pairing letters with your partner’s favorite candy adds a sweet and fun touch, making the gift both meaningful and delicious. This combination shows effort and creativity, perfect for those who appreciate handmade gifts rather than store bought items.

Tanner Stewart and his significant other have been together for a little over a year. Last year he really enjoyed his gift that he received. “I got chocolate and a letter,” Stewart said. “I liked it because I love chocolate and the letter was nice to read.”
