2025 is going to be a busy year with new movies coming out. From sequels to live actions there will be something for everyone. 

Lilo and Stitch is a movie about a fugitive alien who helps a lonely Hawaiian girl mend her broken family. The live-action remake will be in theaters May 23, 2025. “My whole family loves those movies, and I think they’re adorable,” junior Cali Harnish said.

Smurfs is a story where Papa Smurf is mysteriously taken by evil wizards, Razamel and Gargamel, so Smurfette leads the Smurfs on a mission into the real world to save him. With the help of new friends, the Smurfs must discover what defines their destiny to save the universe. Smurfs will be in theaters July 18, 2025.

“I would watch Smurfs,” sophomore Payten Terrell said. “They are cute little creatures and always go on adventures.”

“It has Rihanna singing in it and I’m tired of the live action remakes. They’re dumb,” senior Isabella Bird said.

Zootopia 2 is about two detectives Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde who find themselves on the twisting trail of a mysterious reptile who arrives in Zootopia and turns the mammal metropolis upside down. To crack the case, Judy and Nick must go undercover to unexpected new parts of town, where their growing partnership is tested like never before. Zootopia 2 will be in theaters November 26, 2025.

“Zootopia 1 was good and I always watch it with the kids I babysit,” freshman Hadley McConnell said. “I am looking forward to Zootopia 2.”

Snow White, a live-action musical reimagining of the classic 1937 film, opens exclusively in theaters March 21, 2025. Starring Rachel Zegler in the title role and Gal Gadot as her Stepmother, the Evil Queen, the magical musical adventure journeys back to the timeless story with beloved characters Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy.
