How to have a night to remember at Prom

by Ashtyn Praeter

Sparkly dresses, sharp tuxedos, music to dance to all night: prom is more than just a dance; it is a celebration of friends, memories, and the perfect way to wrap up the school year.

The junior class officers plan the event. “You should go to Prom because the theme this year is really cute and fun,” junior class officer Gabe Woods said. “It’s Eternal Spring. It’s going to be very floral, pastel, and spring themed. Also the decorations are looking great along with the party favors.”

For some students, it is one of the last big events of their high school career. Whether prom has been a long-awaited dream or some are just feeling the excitement, it is coming up fast. “It’s nice to dress up and have with people outside of school,” junior class officer Erin Secody said.

Bellbrook High School Prom takes place on April 26. The dance begins at 8pm and ends at 11pm for three whole hours of dancing and listening to their favorite songs with their peers. Tickets are $30 and the money goes to decorating for the theme, Eternal Spring, and paying for the Carillon Park venue. The address is Eichelberger Pavilion, 1000 Carillon Boulevard, Dayton, Ohio 45409.

Towards the middle of the night, the Prom King and Queen will be announced. Voting for the court will be open for a short amount of time the week prior to the dance and will end the day before the dance.

Not only is the dance important, but the pictures and dinner before are just as important. In the Dayton area,  many popular places for dinner include Brio, The Cheesecake Factory, and Spaghetti Warehouse. Some less-busy places popular with students are Texas Roadhouse, hibachi restaurants in the area such as Sake, and Cooper’s Hawk.

Although going out to a big dinner with peers is fun, some larger groups do catering and eat at somebody’s house.

Perfect picture locations in our area include the reserves and parks, Normandy Church, Wegerzyn Gardens, or taking pictures at somebody’s house.
