Some social media recruiting puts the softball team in play

Bellbrook softball is in full swing. “The season is going good so far,” Chasidy Stewart, a senior Bellbrook Softball player, said. “At the beginning of the season we were in need of more players, but it ended up being okay.”

A little advertising fleshed out the team. “This is my first season playing softball,” junior Alexis LeMieux said. “I joined because I saw a post on Bellbrook sports Instagram saying they needed more players, and I felt it would be a fun sport.”

They also brought up some of the JV players.

Stewart has been playing softball for 12 years. She plays for the school and for a travel/select team. Stewart is now going on to play in college. “I now have a softball athletic scholarship to my #1 college Ohio Christian University,” Stewart said. “I thank my dad everyday for pushing me to keep on going and now I’m on my way to play in college.”

Both LeMieux and Stewart encourage others to try sports like softball. “Don’t be afraid to try new things,” LeMieux said. “I wish I would’ve started this sport sooner.”

“Reach out and talk and ask questions,” Stewart said. “And don’t give up. No matter how hard the task is.”

“There will be coaches that will make you want to quit,” Stewart said. “Because I know I had a couple that would make me want to quit but I kept on going, so I would want the underclassman to know just to not quit when you want to and keep on pushing yourself and you’ll get to where you want someday.”
