AI has an impact on people who do creative works.
Bellbrook parent Josh Steadman uses AI to help manage various tasks. However, Steadman does not use AI for artistic purposes.
“If you’re using AI as a tool to fill in spaces and to help you with grammar and stuff, that’s perfectly reasonable,” Steadman said. “If you’re using it to actually write a story, then you’re not really writing a story.”
Steadman believes using AI for story writing is just downloading one from a computer. He adds that he believes AI will make it less necessary to be able to read.
“When you lower the bar of requirement, you lower the bar of action,” Steadman said.
Steadman believes the usage of AI will lead to people not needing to understand how to read. In addition, he believes if the writer is intellectually lazy, then it can take away the writer’s voice and thoughts.
“But the guy that can go mix pigment and go paint, you know, the Mona Lisa, or something, is going to be more valuable,” Steadman said. “So I think there’s going to be a bigger separation of the people that want to do it, can do it, and will do it are going to be more valuable and easier to spot, because they’re going to stick out.”
