Bellbrook men’s soccer is currently 13-2-2 this season, and is looking to make a deep run in this year’s playoffs.
“I would say one of our biggest strengths this year is the amount of returning starters on the team,” junior Noah Kosins said. “We only lost two starting seniors last year, and the experience of our team has helped us win big games.” Kosins has started varsity all three years.
Riley Daniel is one of the many seniors who is leading the team to success. “One of our biggest strengths this year has been our defense,” Daniel said.
“Our toughest challenge this year was dealing with injuries,” Kosins said. “We overcome this by trusting in our younger guys to step up and play well for us. We have a lot of trust in everyone on our team.”
Before home games, the team goes to the locker room where they connect to someone’s speaker and listen to hype music to get everyone in the right mindset.
The mindset this year is to win the league and state. Unfortunately with the loss and a tie with Monroe, the league title will go to Monroe. Both Kosins and Daniel agree that BHS will make a deep run in the state tournament this year.
“Bellbrook men’s soccer has chemistry that other teams can’t replicate,” Daniel said.
“What makes Bellbrook different from other teams is our work ethic when it comes to practice and games,” Kosins said. “We are always a very hard working team and it shows on the field.”
The team played their final regular season game on Thursday, October 9 at CJ where the Eagles won 2-0. The Golden Eagles will host Xenia on October 18 at home as they kickoff their journey to the state title.
