Students weigh in on the upcoming finale season of Stranger Things

By Chi Steadman

Season 5 of Stranger Things will be released in three separate parts in 2025, marking the 9th year of the Duffer brothers’ project. It has been on Netflix since 2016, when Matt and Ross Duffer began their supernatural 80’s adventure in the fictional town of Hawkins, Indiana.

Episodes 1 to 4 will be released November 26. Episodes 5 to 7 will be released on December 25. And the last episode will be released in over 350 theaters in the US and Canada on December 31, and released on Netflix the same day.

When Season 4 ended, there were a lot of consequences of the Upside Down, a parallel dimension. Season 5 seems to show this continuing in the trailer where viewers can see military presence. Along with the military, the Upside Down is continuing to affect the town of Hawkins.

“I’m really excited to see how it ends,” senior Layla Hanks said. “And how we kind of like tie everything together.”

Students anticipate just from the trailer that it will be an emotional season.

“I feel like there’s going to be a lot of different deaths and a lot of stuff that you don’t want to see happen to your favorite characters,” Hanks said. “But I think there’s going to be a lot of clarity. Which I’m excited for.”
