Bellbrook High School’s National Honor Society (NHS) held its yearly induction ceremony to initiate its new members on March 17. Sixty total juniors and sophomores were all chosen to be members of NHS for demonstrating academic excellence, commitment to community service, and involvement in the community.

The new NHS members will be fully active in the coming 2026-2027 school year. In NHS, they will have access to countless service opportunities and will be expected to uphold the four pillars of Honor Society: scholarship, service, leadership, and character.

BHS junior and new inductee Eli Elmeier shared his expectations. “I’m looking forward to being a positive influence in the community,” Elmeier said.

Elmeier, among many others, is the future of the National Honor Society here at BHS. The organization is also experiencing leadership changes in the future. Next school year, Nathaniel Charlesworth will be a new advisor for the National Honor Society.

“I wanted to take over to be more active in the community,” Charlesworth said. “And to hold a leadership position here at school.”

Charlesworth has been shadowing current NHS advisor, Tess Rivero, during this school year. Rivero has been the NHS advisor for about 10 years. Charlesworth and Rivero will run NHS together next year.

“The new inductees seem like a great upcoming class,” Charlesworth said. “I’m excited to see where they will go in their coming years.”
