Bellbrook High School’s Prom will be held at Top of the Market on April 11, a switch from past years at Carillon Park’s event hall.
“We chose the new location primarily because the old location was getting too expensive,” Mrs. Buedel-Herrman said. “This location is a great size, it has a lot of fun character, and will be a great place for fun.”
Prom is planned by the junior student government officers, this year being Ella Kapfhammer, Olive Varvel, Rithik Mall, and Ava Stephens. Junior Advisors Mrs. B-H and Mrs. Sanderman aided the officers in planning the event.

Kapfhammer came up with the theme of “Midnight in Manhattan,” inspired by the venue being in downtown Dayton. The decorations will be in accordance with a New York City theme.
They started planning early in the second semester, planning factors such as theme, decoration, party favors, posters, and more.
“We have some cute NYC-themed centerpieces,” junior Olive Varvel said. “We are going to have a sign that says NYC in big letters, and we have party favors that are New York themed.”
Prom Court voting started early April, allowing seniors to vote for one boy and girl nominee. 5 boys and 5 girls end up on court, where both juniors and seniors can vote for one each for Queen and King.
Nominees for Prom King include seniors Aidan Caswell, Landon Fortcamp, Blake Gordon, Sean Markland, and Edgar Mescher. Nominees for Prom Queen include seniors Cate Eberly, Sarah Metzeger, Stella Mitchell, Piper Raslich, and Aly Tungol.
“We are really excited about the prom court accessories,” Varvel said. “We need to decide what color the court sashes and crowns are. We also have to ensure that they look like quality pieces.”
