Each semester, students in the Journalism class at Bellbrook High School explore different styles of journalism as part of their semester exam. Their products are posted on a website they design and edit.
Semester 1, 2021
Students studied feature writing. According to Masterclass, a feature article is “a news story that goes beyond the facts to weave in a narrative and tell a compelling story. A feature article differs from a hard news story as it offers an in-depth look at a particular subject, current event, or location to audiences.”
Semester 2, 2022
Students studied roundtable writing. Inspired by a unit created by Rebekah O’Dell, students learned that roundtable analysis brings writers together in conversation over a “text.” The writers then share their own perspectives on aspects of the text.
