In overtime on Sunday, March 9, the Chicago Bulls defeated the Miami Heat with a final score of 95-88. This game was definitely a success for the Bulls, but the real triumph will come if they can beat the Heat in the Playoffs. This is because last season the Heat knocked the Bulls out of the playoffs. The Bulls agree that this game was good practice and they are glad to know that they can knock the Heat off of their game. Jimmy Butler of the Bulls said, “It [the win] gives us confidence.”
Individually, Joakim Noah led the Bulls with 20 points and 12 rebounds. For the Heat, Dwyane Wade led the team with 25 points and 5 rebounds despite his team’s loss. Even with his well-known name, LeBron James had an unpleasant game. James scored 17 points, which is less than he usually scores. James also had to address his broken nose and wear a mask some of the game. In addition, LeBron James got into a small altercation with Jimmy Butler of the Bulls. James is usually one of the major contributors on the Heat, so his situation may have been a factor in the loss. The Heat may be losing their champion status because this is their third loss in a row, which is extremely unusual for the team.
