Senior Andrea Szep beat Notre Dame Thursday October 11 and advanced to quarterfinals for state. Szep won division one singles title in sectionals the previous week and lost in her quarterfinal. Her most notable wins this season were against Walnut Hills, Centerville, and Beavercreek

On this season she notes, “We lost a lot of great seniors last year, and a lot of the girls were a bit newer to tennis and the varsity level, but they’ve all brought such high energy and it’s always a blast a practices and cheering them on at practices.” For a returning varsity player, it is understandably challenging to shift to a new team.

Szep also mentions, “My favorite part of tennis is definitely the atmosphere. It’s very unique, especially when it’s just you on the court trying to hit the ball as hard as you can.”
