Romance Movie Recommendations Sure to Please this February

The bitter cold of early February and the abundance of pink and red call for one thing: a romantic-comedy movie night. Romantic-comedies bring a bit of the light and love that is needed during this time of the year. Pop the popcorn and gather the chocolate because a romance movie night is called for.

About Time – About Time is the story of  Tim who on his 21st birthday is told that all the men in his family can time travel. The story follows Tim as he uses his newfound gift to help his family and friends and also finds love along the way.

10 Things I Hate About You – The movie follows Kat, who is a smart but abrasive high school student, who seems to repel boys. Kat’s younger sister Bianca cannot date until Kat also dates so her boyfriend Cameron sets up an elaborate plot for the bad boy of the school Patrick to go out with Kat.

What If – What If follows the story of Chantry who is in a loving relationship and has a job at an animation company. At a party Chantry meets Wallace who immediately likes Chantry. The movie follows their relationship as they start as friends and teeter on the line of friends and lovers.

How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days – The movie follows the story of Andie who is a newspaper columnist and has been challenged to write a piece on how to get a man to leave in 10 days. Andie picks Ben who has also made a bet that he can make any woman fall in love with him in 10 days. Their plans do not go smoothly but maybe they can find love along the way.

Sixteen Candles – Samantha turns 16 which should be one of the best days of her life, but turns out to be one of the worst when her family forgets her birthday amid the chaos of her sister’s wedding. Samantha has a crush on Jake, one of the most popular boys in school, but the only boy she seems able to attract is Ted, a nerdy freshman. Although her day seems ruined, maybe love can brighten it.
