Broadway Shows coming to The Schuster Center

New year, new shows! The Schuster Center, located in Dayton, Ohio, has six Broadway shows this year, but they have more than Broadway shows. The Center hosts other shows, activities for kids, and even more. The Schuster Center opened in 2003.

January 26- February 6: Hamilton 

  • This show is 2 hours and 50 minutes long with a 20 minutes intermission. 
  • Hamilton is about Alexander Hamilton and his life told in musical form. This musical has various genres of music including R&B, Jazz, hip-hop, and typical broadway. 
  • This show is recommended for ages 10+ because of strong language use. The Schuster Center will not be allowing kids under six years of age into this show. 

March 8- March 13: Dear Evan Hanson

  • This show is 2 hours and 30 minutes long with a 20 minute intermission.
  • Dear Evan Hanson is about Evan Hanson and his way through life with challenges and finally getting what he always wanted: the chance to fit in. This musical style is contemporary. 
  • This show is recommended for ages 12+. Any kids under the age of six will not be allowed into the auditorium. 

April 6- April 10: Come From Away

  • This show is 1 hour and 40 minutes long with NO intermission. 
  • Come From Away is about the true story of 7,000 stranded passengers from 9/11 and the small town that welcomes them. This story is told through music, more specifically folk-rock. 
  • This show has no age recommendation, but no kids under the age of 6 will be permitted. 

May 31- June 5: Mean Girls 

  • This show is 2 hours and 30 minutes long with a 20 minute intermission. 
  • Mean Girls is about Cady Heron and her adapting with her new lifestyle. Cady tries to overtake Regina George reign in her school, she learns, “You can’t cross a queen bee without getting stung.” The music in Mean Girl is Pop. 
  • This shows the age recommendation is 10+. Kids under the age of 6 will not be permitted. 

June 21- June 26: Fiddler on the Roof 

  • This show does not have a time range or a time for intermission yet. 
  • Fiddler on the Roof is about husbands and wives and fathers and daughters and the tradition of faith in family set in a Jewish village in Eastern Europe at the turn of the 19th century.
  • This show does not have an age recommendation but children under the age of 6 will not be permitted. 

August 2 – August 7 2022: Jesus Christ Superstar 

  • This show is 2 hours and 10 minutes with a 20 minute intermission
  • Jesus Christ Superstar is about the story of Jesus told through song. The sounds are mainly jazz and funk type songs. 
  • The Schuster Center recommends ages 10 and up for this show.
