SAG stands for Screen Actor Guild. On Sunday February 27, 2022, actors took the stage to celebrate their achievements. SAG has 3 large categories: Film, Stunts, and Television.

Film

In the Film Category 4 actors and 1 film received a reward for their performance.

Jessica Chastain

Jessica Chastain played Tammy Faye in The Eyes of Tammy Faye. The Eyes of Tammy Faye is the story of Tammy’s upbringing and the rise and fall of her and her husband Jim career. Chastain won Best Female Actor in a Leading Role.

Will Smith

Will Smith played Richard Williams in King Richard. King Richard is about famous tennis players Venus and Serena Williams’s father. Smith was recognized for his outstanding performance. Will Smith received Best Male Actor in a Leading Role.

Ariana Debose

Ariana Debose played as Anita in West Side Story. West Side Story is about love between Tony and Maria but their love becomes a war against the Sharks and Jets. Debose was recognized for her outstanding performance as a female actor in a supporting role.

Troy Kotsur

Troy Kotsur played in story of a Deaf family CODA as Frank Rossi. Kostur was recognized for his outstanding performance as a male actor in a supporting role.

CODA

CODA was recognized for the outstanding performance of the cast in the motion picture. CODA is a remake of a French film from 2014 about a child who is the only hearing member of her family who is trying to deal with her family and their struggles.

Stunts

In the Stunt category, 2 ensembles of a motion picture and a T.V series earned an award.

No Time to Die

No Time to Die is a film who won an award for outstanding performance of stunt ensemble. No Time to Die is about James Bond after he rescued himself and attempting to lay low in Jamaica.

Squid Games

Squid games is a television series that won a award for outstanding performance of stunt ensemble. Squid Games is about a desperate group of poor people who are trying to win a large amount of money through a game but were tricked into a game of life or death.

Television

In the Television Category 6 actors and two television series was given awards.

Succession

Succession is a Drama Series that won an award for outstanding performance of ensemble in a drama series. Succession is about the Roy family and their business who are fighting for control of their company because health uncertainties of a family member.

Jung Ho-Yeon

Jung Ho-Yeon plays in Squid Games as Kang Sae-byeok. In the series Kang makes it to the final round. Jung received an award for her outstanding performance as a female actor in a Drama Series.

Lee Jung-Jae

Lee Jung-Jae plays in Squid Games and Seong Gi-Hun. In the series Seong is a key character. Lee received an award for his outstanding performance as a male actor in a drama series.

Ted Lasso

Ted Lasso is a Comedy Series that received an award for outstanding performance in by the ensemble. Ted Lasso is about an American football coach hired to run a British Soccer team but he doesn’t know much about it. The new coach tries to make up for his lack of knowledge through his optimism.

Jean Smart

Jean Smart plays in Hacks, a comedy TV series, as Deborah Vance. Hacks is a show about Deborah, a Las Vegas comic, and a 25 year old comedy writer forming a mentorship. Smart received the award for outstanding performance of female actor in a Comedy series.

Jason Sudeikis

Jason Sudeikis plays in Ted Lasso as Ted Lasso. Sudeikis received an award for his outstanding performance as a male actor in a comedy series.

Kate Winslet

Kate Winslet plays in the Mare of Easttown as Mare Sheehan. Mare of Easttown is about a office police investigator who is trying to investigate a brutal murder while she also tries to make sure her life doesn’t fall apart. Kate Winslet received an award for outstanding performance as a female actor in a television movie or limited series
