With the war in Ukraine progressing, reports of war crimes by the Russian military are flooding social media and news networks. When the Ukrainian military took back the suburb of Bucha just outside the capital city of Kyiv after a Russian retreat out of the northern city, these troops were left with a gruesome and horrific sight. Many bruised and battered bodies were either buried in mass graves or left tossed aside so tanks could get by and other bodies were trampled.
Russian officials claim this is nothing but “fake news” that is being propagated by the hateful West in an attempt to undermine Russia’s safety. However, the Human Rights Watch has confirmed these war crimes along with the United States’ state department.
