With Spring Break upon Bellbrook schools, many families are gearing up to travel, but many will hunker down for the week. It can be depressing looking at all the Instagram posts of the beach, but there are many fun things to do right here in Ohio.
If you are looking for somewhere to visit in Ohio, there are many different activity locations. For museum lovers, there is the Dayton Art Institute which is home to over 27,000 pieces of art. There is also the Boonshoft Museum which has a ton of interactive exhibits such as the water tables or the planetarium, offering a fun experience for any age.
For thrill-seekers, there is iFLY in Cincinnati, which is an indoor skydiving experience perfect for beginners. A few minutes from the iFLY facility is Topgolf where a group can rent a bay to play golf, order food and drinks, and relax.
If you are looking for a mini road trip, consider planning a hike through Hocking Hills State Park in Logan, Ohio. Whether you plan just a day trip or choose to rent a cabin and spend the night there are endless wonders such as Old Man’s Cave, Cedar Falls, and Ash Cave to explore. The park also offers canoe rentals and a zipline experience.
For students interested in going to college, spring break is a great time to visit different campuses. Typically college students go on spring break earlier than secondary schools, so when you visit, students will be on campus making it easier to envision yourself there.
If you are looking to stay home and take it easy or just want to save some money, there are tons of fun and productive things to do around the house. Use the break to get your spring cleaning done. Whether your closet is too full or the garage is bursting at the seams, it is always rewarding to clean an area from top to bottom.
If you want to get rid of old stuff you don’t use anymore, you can take it to a donation center or sell it for some extra cash. Along with cleaning, it might be time to update your bedroom with some new paint, furniture, or some posters and pictures on the wall.
Planning a movie marathon is another great way to spend your time. Taking a few days to lay on the couch, eat snacks, and watch your favorite movie series or show is always relaxing and will help melt away the stress from the last few months of school. You could even bake your own snacks or color a picture while you watch.
If you still feel bored and hate being unproductive, consider applying for a summer job or if you already have one, pick up some extra shifts. Working is a great way to fill a few hours while making money.
