The holiday season has begun with many forming their Christmas wishlists, quickly picking out gifts for friends and family.
At the top of many wish lists this year comes new pieces of technology. The iPhone 17, released earlier this year, has become one of the most popular gifts. Its new camera and AI-abilities have drawn in customers to put it at the top of their lists.
The Hatch alarm clock is another new piece of technology atop many people’s list. Rather than a traditional alarm clock, it wakes you up with gentle, soothing sounds to help you start your day more naturally. It also doubles as a sleep-aid, offering customizable lights, sounds, and bedtime routines to help your sleep routine.
“I’m asking for a new gaming console so I can play with my friends and play new games,” sophomore JT Harnish said. “I’m also asking for new games for that console.”
News clothes are at the top of many people’s list this year. Styles such as athleisure and basics-driven styles have taken over Christmas lists. For athleisure, the top brands include Lululemon, Alo Yoga, Vuori, and Gymshark. For basics, brands like Hollister, Abercrombie and Fitch, Brandy Melville, and Edikted have been the most notable.
“For my brother, I got him waffle knit long sleeves from Hollister,” senior Caroline Deszcz said. “He will use them when he travels abroad.”
The most popular clothing item in men’s clothing is quarter-zips. After a popular TikTok trend, this style has taken over many stores. From athleisure brands like Alo Yoga, to more sophisticated brands like Ralph Lauren, men have been embracing the most sophisticated style.
“I have seen a lot of guys ask for things like quarter-zips,” Harnish said. “I think many people are asking for them instead of things like Nike Tech jackets.”
Practical, age-specific gifts are always a perfect way to show your appreciation for someone. Buying someone car decoration that just got their license, or dorm decorations for seniors getting ready to leave for colleges can be times to utilize this.
“I want a vanity mirror with lights around it,” said Deczcz. “I’m going to use it to decorate my door at Ohio University.”
