Students share top movies to watch for Halloween

Halloween is a fun time to watch movies with friends. Many students at Bellbrook High School shared their favorite Halloween films for this special time. Of 25 interviewed students, 76% like to watch halloween movies especially in October to make the time more fun.

One of students’ favorite films is The Nightmare Before Christmas because it combines Halloween and Christmas. Students also love the classic scary movie Halloween for real horror. Other fun choices are the witch stories Hocus Pocus and Double Double Toil and Trouble.

But the number one Halloween favorite is Coraline because of creepy animation. In the movie, a girl named Coraline finds a secret door in her new house. Behind it she finds a world that looks just like hers, but better. Soon she realizes that her “other Mother” has a dark secret and wants to keep her there forever.

“To make a movie night cool, turn off the big lights in the room,” sophomore Lydia Metzler said. “Use small candles or orange lights to make the room dark and spooky.” It is also great to prepare some snacks for friends. People can make popcorn, buy candy, or drink red juice. Good snacks and cozy blankets make every movie night special and fun.
