The much-anticipated trailer for “Star Wars: Force Awakens” was released into the universe on Black Friday, thus marking the beginning of the newest era for the franchise. Although only lasting a brief 88 seconds, the teaser gave fans across the world an insight into the galaxy that they have grown to love over the past 37 years.
When Disney acquired Lucas Films and announced the creation of a third Star War’s trilogy in 2012, fans reacted with mixed emotions. Yes, many were excited for their for their favorite saga to be expanded. However, would the new films convey the same emotions with J.J. Abrams, rather than George Lucas, in the director’s chair?
With the release of a phenomenal trailer as well as the return of past characters like Han Solo (Harrison Ford) and Luke Skywalker (Mark Hamill), expectations for “Force Awakens” remain high. New characters will appear along with new effects and new surprises. The trailer portrays only some of these changes in its one minute, thirty-second run-time. As far as plot information goes, fans will have to wait until December 18, 2015 to see the film for themselves.
