Although we are only four months into 2015, former Secretary of State Hilary Rodham Clinton announced that she will be running for president in 2016. Clinton revealed her plan through a video, which was released on April 12.
Beginning with testimonials from a diverse group, Clinton’s campaign video has garnered hundreds of thousands of views on YouTube and portrays the diverse population of America. It includes a gay couple planning their wedding, an African American couple preparing for the birth of their child, and Spanish-speaking immigrants starting a business.
Approximately 90 seconds into the video, Clinton makes her appearance and declares that she will be running for president and that she hopes to be the “champion” for “everyday Americans.”
Clinton is currently the only bid for the Democratic nomination. Recently Florida senator Marco Rubio also announced that he will be competing for the presidency in 2016 under the Republican Party. Kentucky senator Rand Paul declared his run for the Presidency a few weeks back.
