Coming Soon: Summer Book Releases

by Bridget Richard

School’s out for the summer, and you know what that means…time to hit the books! Here are some book recommendations, all of which are new and highly-anticipated releases.

In the Unlikely Event by Judy Blume. Set to be released on June 2, 2015, Blume is sure to please in this anticipated novel that centers around a 1950’s plane crash. It’s sure to be a fun way to reunite with an author that was a childhood favorite for many.

In the Country by Mia Alvar.  This novel tells the stories of nine different Filipino men and women. It looks to be an emotional and heartfelt story. This will be Alvar’s seventh novel, and will be released on June 16, 2015.

Go Set a Watchman by Harper Lee. The much anticipated prequel, sort of sequel, of To Kill a Mockingbird will be released on July 14, 2015. From now, that leaves plenty of time to read TKAM and get hyped for the new release!

The Marriage of Opposites by Alice Hoffman. This book has the latest release date so far of August 14, 2015 but promises a beautiful, historic romance. Hoffman’s poignant prose is well worth the wait.

The Rumor by Elin Hilderbrand. The epitome of “beach read,” Hilderbrand’s seventeenth novel is centered around the friendship of two girls in Nantucket. The cover itself shows two girls lounging on beach chairs in front of the ocean, which sounds like a perfect setting to read the book itself! And, just in time, it’s release date is June 16, 2015.
