A recent class action lawsuit has targeted one of America’s most beloved coffee chains: Starbucks. The plaintiff claims that Starbucks inaccurately advertises its chilled drinks which are nearly 50% ice and requests that Starbucks increase the size of its cups for chilled drinks so that customers receive a fair amount of coffee.
Starbucks has dismissed the allegations and spokesperson Jamie Riley stated, “If a customer is not satisfied with their beverage preparation, we will gladly remake it.”
Senior Jackie Thompson noticed the unequal ice-to-coffee ratio present in Starbucks iced drinks on her trip to California. “I think one solution could be to use smaller ice cubes,” she suggested.
The lawsuit was filed in a Northern Illinois Federal Court last week and the future of the case is uncertain.
