April 21, the Bellbrook Girls’ track team defended their title and won the Greene County Invitational once again. Emily Taylor, a sophomore hurdler, remarked, “I didn’t participate last year but I feel grateful to have been able to put forth what I had to offer to continue the winning streak.”
Even with the win, there were still moments of excitement and as Taylor recalled, “The best parts of the meets are when the entire team gets on the field to cheer on the 4×400 relay, which is the last event, and we’re all there for the same reasons and we’re proud of our teammates.” This event includes four athletes sprinting around the track once and handing off the baton. Especially at the end of the meet, when points are crucial to determining placement, and many team members are wanting to get home, it is understandable that this event is exciting.
