Boys Basketball Tied for SWBL Champs

This 2017-2018 winter sports season, the Bellbrook boys’ basketball team has achieved a record of 10-2 and are currently tied for 1st with Franklin High School as SWBL Champions. The boys concluded their last season game on Friday, February 16 against Eaton, and came out on top with a score of 60-41.

The team’s players have been bestowed multiple awards. Storm Painter is ranked 2nd in the league for field goal percentage (the ratio of the number of shots taken to the number of shots made) with a personal percent of 64.6%. Donnie Crouch has been named Co-player of the Year SWBL and made 1st Team SWBL, as well as District 15 1st Team. Jack Campbell also made 1st Team SWBL, and both Caleb Scott and Hayden Greene received Honorable Mentions. Furthermore, the team’s coach, Donnie Tate,  has been named SWBL coach of the year.

As their season is coming to a close, the boys enter the tournament as 3rd seed and are matched up against Oakwood. The teams will compete to make it to the next round on Saturday, February 24 at Trent Arena in Kettering at 7 p.m.
