Fun Activities To Do Throughout Fall!

By Mackenzie Pittman

The majority of humanity would pick fall as their favorite season. It’s not too hot (typically), not too cold, the leaves are changing spreading a riot of color everywhere. It’s a time for friends and family and fun and giving thanks. The question is, what can you fill your time with in such a wonderful season? Many, many festive, spirited, and autumnal activities. And here are just a few!

Apple Picking

Hand picking apples not only supports locally grown farms but allows for endless homemade apple-filled treats: apple pie, applesauce, apple cider, candied apples, and just plain apples!

Hay Rides

A perfect way to get outside and explore the season’s changes while on a wagon or cart. This is an ideal way for everyone, even lazy people, to appreciate autumn.

Corn maze

Corn mazes are a great way to have fun with friends, find out who you really trust, and discover who has a terrible sense of direction. Being stuck in a field of corn at night with endless pathways can frightening and thrilling, but even if you do get truly lost, GPS exists!!

Pumpkin Picking

With Halloween creeping closer every day, who isn’t ready to carve a pumpkin? Taking the time to hand select the pumpkin you will carve adds one more layer to the process, making it much more personal and sentimental. Personally, I can’t wait to go pick the fattest, lumpiest pumpkin I can find since it adds more character to my jack-o-lantern. Happy hunting for the perfect pumpkin!

Haunted Houses/Trails

Hand in hand with pumpkin carving, going to haunted houses or trails will seriously put you in a spooky mood. What better way to give yourself a little fright than to participate in some harmless scaring. Whether you’re looking for a little spook or a lot of spook, there’s a haunted place out there for you. Gather your friends and your family and get ready for a fright fest!
