Bellbrook Music Department Gets Into the Holiday Spirit

By: Carter Caldwell

On December 11, Bellbrook’s concert band got a little festive with this year’s holiday concert featuring not only the regular wind ensemble and symphony band, but also the jazz band, bassoon ensemble, and percussion ensemble.   The bands, which are directed by Mrs. Barb Siler and Mr. Chris Foster, played several pieces, including classics like “Jingle Bells,” “Frosty the Snowman,” “Hark, The Herald Angels Sing,” and “Silent Night.”

The concert, which featured more than an hour of music from the aforementioned ensembles and can be found here (symphony) and here (wind), also marked the debut of new dresses for the girls.  In addition to directing, Mr. Foster also sported an elf hat and slippers to top off the holiday cheer.  The band’s next concert will come in spring of 2019.

On December 10, the choir department also had a concert, which also featured the middle school choirs and show choir.  The show choir, directed by Mrs. Barb Siler, performed “All I Want For Christmas Is You,” followed by concert choir singing a number of songs, including a rendition of “Silent Night” complete with American Sign Language gestures.
