After two years, Bellbrook High School finally will be performing a musical! Due to the pandemic, the last musical planned for 2020, Peter Pan, was cancelled and there hasn’t been a musical since. The musical for 2022 is The Addams Family after changing from the originally the planned musical for 2022, Shrek.

Shrek was announced that it would be the spring musical in the program for the fall play, The One Act Play That Goes Wrong. While the study body was looking forward to a well-known story like Shrek, a lot of the theater kids seemed not so ecstatic. Multiple people chose to not audition because Shrek didn’t appeal to them.

During auditions, directors Mrs. Blankenship and Ms. Breese noticed that the actors and actresses auditioning didn’t fit the Shrek roles. To make for a more successful performance, they decided to change the show last minute. Only a select few kids who auditioned knew about the change, but everyone else found out when the cast list was posted on Friday, January 21.

The Addams Family cast are excited to perform this show on May 5.
