Amazon announces layoffs among Black Friday deals

According to CNBC, Amazon laid off approximately 10,000 employees. This led to a 2% drop of shares.

The amount of cuts is one of the biggest layoffs in Amazon’s history. In December 2021 the company had a total of 1.6 million part and full time employees. The company has been growing at an exponential rate but inflation has cut into their bottom line.
