On Far Hills Avenue just north of Whipp Road at the former location of Lee’s Chicken and Arby’s is the site for a new local delicatessen called Dayton’s Deli.
Early January was when Lee’s Chicken closed its doors after neighboring Arby’s withdrew from the hybrid location in late 2022.
Dayton’s Deli originally planned to open at a location on Far Hills and Lamplighter Trail in the former site of a Masonic temple, but with intentions unknown, they decided to move to their current location according to Dayton.com
Dayton’s Deli isn’t going to be the only new addition to that block. A United Dairy Farmers plans to develop two acres of land previously occupied by a Sunoco gas station, Pizza Hut, and Tim Hortons all previously benign stand-alone commercial lots per the Dayton Daily News.
UDF plans to open the store this summer after having purchased the lands almost eight years prior for a total of 8 million dollars according to the director of UDF real-estate Tim Kling.
UDF has a total of over 200 locations with their first being a location on Montgomery Road in Norwood, Ohio, in 1940 per UDF Inc.
