As a soon-to-be graduate of Bellbrook High School, I feel inclined to share my positive and beneficial experience in Ms. Bills-Tenney’s Journalism class. Although I only was a part of EagleView News for two semesters out of my eight here at BHS, I became even more passionate about writing and learned so much that I will take with me into my future.

I chose to take Journalism my senior year after I discovered my love for writing in Ms. B-T’s AP Language and Composition class. Journalism was all I hoped for and more. The relaxed atmosphere of the class allowed us students to have easy-going and respectful conversations, while still leaving room to be inquisitive with debate and serious discussions.
Journalism benefited me in many ways; I had meaningful conversations with my classmates, learned more about my school community, pop-culture, and current events, and I received feedback on a regular basis to improve my writing.
From writing articles, I have discovered that it is important to be concise and direct. These new writing habits I have developed have translated into other parts of my academic career, and have added brevity and style to my writing.
I would encourage anyone who loves creative writing to take this class. In Journalism, we write, interview, report, find reputable sources for article review assignments, analyze media, and become even more involved in BHS.
I would like to continue journalism in some capacity in college, because I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as a student journalist for EagleView News. After taking Journalism, I feel confident and prepared to step into more challenging writing-based classes or clubs in college. I am so glad I took this class–it was worth it.
