As the Dayton Daily News reported Wednesday, December 10, several new official dates of recognition have been made for the state of Ohio. With September being made “School Bullying Prevention Awareness Month” and March receiving the title of “Ohio Maple Syrup Products Month,” there is one other designation that sticks out from the rest.
From now on, February 21 will be known as Rascal Flatts Day. Several Bellbrook students were perplexed that this band, formed in Columbus in 1999, now has its own official day. Junior Alexis Schuster likes the band, but said, “I think that this shindig was a waste of time and resources. I don’t see the point.” Another junior, Bridgette Martinez, when asked whether or not she would change the day if given the chance to change the day said that she wouldn’t, because “Ohio doesn’t have anything going on.”
