School Spring Fashion

by Bridget Richard

Spring has finally decided to show itself in Bellbrook’s weather, which means the time for spring fashion is upon us. For guys, it usually means bringing out the good ol’ basketball and cargo shorts, boat shoes, or the occasional bro-tank. But for those going for more feminine attire, this change of season brings a few more complications. Luckily, fashion magazines and catalogues have already decreed what’s in style for spring 2015, and some of these accessible trends are here for you!

  • High-waisted shorts: These shorts, gaining popularity in former years for their “retro” look, have become a staple of modern teen fashion. And these shorts usually come in different lengths, for whatever your comfort level is.

Oh… wait. Shorts have to be at least finger-tip length in school. Because that expanse of thigh above the fingertip line, which for some girls is almost halfway down the thigh, is supposedly too distracting…

  • Cute floral dresses are always a great spring go-to. In refreshing prints and colors, dresses are a fun and feminine way to liven up your wardrobe. Try one with spaghetti straps to accent your gorgeous arms, or maybe that new tan you got over spring break!

Just kidding, spaghetti straps are banned in school too. I guess shoulders, for both men and women, cross a line in educational decency…

So… throw a shrug or a blanket over your shoulders to cover it up.

Then again… blankets aren’t allowed either…

  • Hats! Try wearing a hat! They’re fun, come in many styles and colors, keep the sun out of your eyes…Of course, you know that hats aren’t allowed either, so I’m not even going to bother on this one.
