Alyssa Burritt, a senior golfer at Bellbrook High School not to mention a fantastic one, was nominated for the week of October 25, to be athlete of the week for iHeart Radio. I decided to get the inside scope of Alyssa’s golfing experience.
Q: How long have you been playing golf?
A: I’ve been playing for about 8 years, but only competitively for about 5 years.
Q: Do you plan to continue golfing in college?
A: I plan on playing D1 golf in college, either at UC or U of Illinois.
Q: How do you feel to be recognized as athlete of the week from iHeart Radio?
A: It feels great to be recognized for all the work that I’ve put into being great at my sport.
Q: Have you gotten any other awards from golf?
A: I was the southern Ohio junior player of the year in 2014 and first team of all SWBL conference for boys golf this year.
Q: Do you play any other sports?
A: For the first two years of high school, I played volleyball, but after that I committed to focusing on golf full time.
Q: What do you plan on studying in college?
A: I plan on studying math.
