JROTC Can Food Drive Major Success

by Megan Hyer

This year JROTC once again did their canned food drive through the Bellbrook community. They collected about 6,150 cans, 1,500 more than last year. The cans go to the food pantry at the Bellbrook Family Resource center or if a cadet knows someone in need of food, some of those families get bags.

One cadet says, “Depending on the neighborhood you do, it can be fun. The collecting part of the food drive is better than the rolling of papers and passing them out.”

Another cadets says, “It can be really fun, it just depends on the group you are with.”

Every year their tradition is to make a tower of all the cans they have collected then bag them up for the families or for the food pantry.
