BHS announces senior superlatives

By: Calle Caldwell

Senior Superlatives are a classic high school tradition here at Bellbrook High School. Each year, a male and female senior are nominated under categories their fellow peers think describe them. By categorizing peers into “Most…” or “Best…” types of categories, the senior class creates a shared narrative of their time in school together.

The 2026 superlative categories were crafted in the yearbook class. BHS senior and winner of the Best Dressed category Gabe Woods helped make the categories. “We looked at old yearbooks for inspiration for the stereotypical categories,” Woods said. “Then, we made a long list and just eliminated some one-by-one until we got to our final 12.”

The yearbook class worked to match the superlatives with the yearbook theme: “Behind The Scenes.” Their goal was to be coordinated with the theme to put together a more cohesive final product for seniors to enjoy for years to come.

On April 29, BHS released the winners of the senior superlatives for the class of 2026.

The winners are as follows:

Most Artistic: Michael Landry and Calle Caldwell

Most Athletic: Noah Barrios and Ainsley Gregory

Most Helpful: Kurtis Lefeld and Jonah Grismer

Most Helpful: Lily Conway and Layla Hanks

Class Clowns: Ennas Barri and Piper Raslich

Most Photogenic: Blake Gordon and Mara Donnerberg

Most Spirited: Alex Koverman and Zoe Howard

Best Friends: Cali Harnish and Kalynn Schaaf

Superlatives are a way to capture the essence of some members of the senior class. Senior Zoe Howard won “Best Friends” with senior Emmie Sears. Howard and Sears have been friends since the second grade. “It feels really cool to win something like this because I feel like, one day, Emmie and I are gonna show our kids this,” Howard said. “It’s just really special.”
