Volunteer Oportunites for the End of the Year

By: Emily Bunsold

As this school year comes to a close, there are still many opportunities to get those service hours up and get a head start on hours for next year.

Many of the volunteers that did Homework Help and Bellbrook Buddies had to limit or stop going altogether because of spring sports or other obligations and both activities are in dire need of some more volunteers.

  • Homework Help is Mondays and Thursdays from 3:15-4:15 and Bellbrook Buddies is every Wednesday from 2:30-3:20 (make sure your teachers are aware of you leaving class early). If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Anderson at BCI.

There are TONS of different activities to sign up for in Mrs. Rivero’s room (207) to help out with in these last couple weeks:

  • The track team needs some help setting up events during the SWBL meets that Bellbrook hosts on May 14 and May 16.
  • Safetyville, a 4-day long program June 8-12, helps the incoming kindergartners get a feel for what school is going to be like. It’s a great way to jumpstart your participation in service for the summer.
  • Helping with graduation is another big event coming up that could use some help selling tickets for and setting up the day of as well.

If you ever need to know what’s going on in the school with different clubs and activities that you might like to be a part of, Mrs. Pernik (Key Club), Mrs. Sumner (PfS), and Mrs. Rivero (NHS) are the top 3 people you should go see about participating. Whether you’ve been in clubs or not this past year, it’s always good to help out the school when they need it!
