In the midst of all the preparation for exams this week, we could all probably use a tiny break from the late night study sessions and hours of cramming for upcoming tests. Even if you find yourself in need of some sort of escape during the 2-hour long test, these 30-60 second tricks to help you chill out will for sure leave you feeling refreshed and ready to tackle however many questions lay between you and summer break.
Trick #1
- Sit/lie down in a comfortable spot
- Tighten every muscle in your body from your toes all the way up to the muscles around your eyes and mouth
- Keep really tense for about 5 seconds
- Release all tension when you exhale
- Repeat as many times as you need to feel relaxed
Trick #2
- Taking deep breaths, focus on a calming word when you exhale
- If your mind begins to wander, bring yourself back to your breathing
Trick #3
- Close your eyes and focus on your nose
- Imagine cold air going in through your nose
- Then imagine warm air going out
Trick #4
- Imagine your body getting really heavy
- Start with your feet, all the way up to your head
Trick #5
- Take a deep breath a close your eyes
- Picture your perfect place to relax
