As fall changes into winter, the marching band season comes to an end. Their show, Slow and Steady, made the story of Tortoise and the Hare come to life. They used a larger-than-life turtle and moved in throughout the show until the turtle crossed the finish line and the show ended. The marching band put hours and hours of work starting in the summer when they practiced from 9 am to 9 pm. Their hard work paid off because the show was spectacular.
The marching band made it to prelims for BOA but unfortunately did not move on to semis. Junior Abbey Raison said, “This year was great because the show had a real story and everyone was able to get close to each other and become friends.” Throughout the year the ensemble was able to not only grow from show to show and fix their mistakes but they also became a family. Freshman Sean Wolf said, “The seniors were great to all of us. They showed us what to do and were kind, patient and friendly.” Senior Emma Dixon said, “This season was special because it was my last year. We all put our hearts into it and I could not be prouder of what we were able to accomplish.”
The band is excited for next year. They hope the show will capture our imagination and will be able to make it to semis.
