Warning high school seniors! College deadlines are quickly approaching. If you are not already aware, most Early Decision and Early Action applications are due by November 1. Be sure to turn in your transcript request forms to the guidance office, at the latest, by October 17 if you have not already. It is important to give your guidance counselor at least two weeks time to complete your transcript, letter of recommendation, and other necessary forms. Along with turning in forms to guidance, be sure to ask some of your teachers for letters of recommendation. Most schools will require at least one but be sure to check your school’s website to see what they require.
Along with turning things into guidance and asking for letters, check to see if your college uses the Common Application. This application is available at https://www.commonapp.org/Login and applies to over 500 schools. The Common Application makes your application process a little less stressful by allowing you to send this same application to multiple schools. One thing to be aware of, though, is that some schools require a supplemental essay in addition to the essay you will write for your general common application. Be sure to check your school’s website to see if they require one and if so, what their prompts are.
Good luck seniors as you continue on with the application process! If there are any more questions, be sure to stop into the guidance office.
